Diplomatic Conference

About The Conference

Diplomatic Conference is a high-level diplomatic and policy engagement conference is designed to strengthen bilateral and multilateral engagement and reposition diplomacy and multilateralism as strategic instrument for sustainable national and global development

The Conference will bring together diplomats, ambassadors, policymakers, international organizations, development partners, private sector leaders, policy professionals and all those in interested in diplomacy, multilateralism, foreign policy and international cooperation to engage in structured dialogue and applied diplomatic practice.

A defining feature of Diplomatic Conference is its ambassadorial engagement framework, where delegates assume the role of Nigerian Ambassadors to designated countries and multilateral blocs. Through this applied model, participants conduct bilateral consultations, multilateral negotiations, and bloc-based policy engagements that mirror real diplomatic processes. This approach bridges the gap between diplomatic theory and practice while strengthening participants’ strategic, negotiation, and representation capacities. Delegates will be inducted into diplomatic assembly and as fellow of African Transformer Institute and receive special recognition.

The Conference integrates strategic diplomacy and multilateralism to address peace, security, governance, and geopolitical priorities; economic diplomacy to promote trade, investment, and development cooperation; and cultural diplomacy to strengthen people-to-people relations and Nigeria’s soft power. These pillars are reinforced by a one-month pre-conference online course on diplomacy, multilateralism and foreign policy, ensuring a high level of policy literacy and substantive engagement among participants.

Diplomatic Conference also delivers long-term institutional impact through the Diplomatic Assembly, a community of diplomats and emerging diplomats. All delegates are inducted as members of the Assembly and as Fellows of the African Transformer Institute, ensuring sustained engagement beyond the Conference.

Ultimately, Diplomatic Conference serves as a strategic platform for advancing multilateralism, strengthening international cooperation, and cultivating a cadre of informed, practice-ready diplomatic actors committed to Nigeria’s leadership in regional and global affairs.

Diplomatic conference is organized by the African Transformer Institute (ATI), Center for Peace Advocacy and Sustainable Development (CEPASD) and Partners
